Alexander Drozdenko, governor of the Leningrad region in Russia, has invited crytpocurrency miners to set up shop in his region, per a Russian news service. The miners can use local land to establish mining farms and tap into the energy generated by Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LNPP).

Drozdenko’s generous offer came during a small to medium business forum called Energy of Opportunities in Russia.

“For the production of bitcoins, first of all, large areas for processing and cheap electric power are required,” said Drozdenko. “As you know, the construction of LNPP-2 is being completed in Sosnovy Bor, and large areas of the first nuclear power plant are being liberated. The liberated facility of Leningrad NPP can be used as a techno-park designed for cheap energy.”

There were more than 600 attendees at the conference. There was no official word on whether any of them have taken up the offer.
