Bitcoin Holds, But Other Cryptos Are In Decline As SEC Decision Loomsbr>
The market broke into the red arrow zone in early trading today, athough bitcoin held at the $6,500 level in moderate trading.
At mid-morning, the top ten coins were down about two to five percent. Notable losers included ether (down 2.4 percent), XRP (down 5 percent), Bitcoin Cash (down 3.2 percent) and Stellar (down just over 4 percent).
The market is still waiting to see if the SEC will decide to permit the first US based bitcoin ETFs. Today’s down market reflected the uneasy betting on that ruling.

The highest price seen was $6,701.83 on the Cryptonex exchange at 6:49 pm yesterday. Cryptonex saw $28,027,636 of bitcoin change hands.
The lowest price seen was $6,258.54 on Cryptonex’s exchange at 11:37 pm yesterday. Cryptonex’s 24 hour volume was $28,027,636.
The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $6,497.86.
Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 48.1. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.
These statistics were consolidated from 24 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
