Bitcoin Suisse, Worldline Partner For Wider Cryptocurrency Use

Crypto financial services firm Bitcoin Suisse is collaborating with payments company Wordline to facilitate cryptocurrency acceptance for payments at the point of sale and in web-shops.

Founded in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse offers prime brokerage, storage, lending, payments and other crypto-financial services. It has helped to shape the crypto-and blockchain-ecosystem in Switzerland and has been a driving force in the development of the Crypto Valley and Crypto Nation Switzerland.

Worldline is the European leader in the payment and transactional services industry. Its core offerings include pan-European and domestic Commercial Acquiring for physical or online businesses, secured payment transaction processing for banks and financial institutions, as well as transactional services in e-Ticketing and for local and central public agencies.

The partnership between the two companies will leverage the existing nationwide payments infrastructure of SIX Payment Services, which is part of Worldline since the end of 2018, and the crypto expertise and experience of Bitcoin Suisse to make payments with cryptocurrencies a reality across a wide range of businesses and industries.

The goal of the partnership is to augment the existing payment service network of Worldline with cryptocurrency payment capabilities and – vice-versa – endorse the use of cryptocurrency in Switzerland through its acceptance as payment currency on a large-scale both at the Point of Sale and in e-Commerce.

“As a market leader we have a reputation to introduce latest payment functionalities that enhance the customer journey as well as boost efficiency and profitability for our merchants,” said Marc Schluep, CEO of Worldline in Switzerland. “Through the cooperation with Bitcoin Suisse, merchants can benefit from an entirely new offering without taking any conversion risk.”

Switzerland has established itself as a crypto center in the last few years, with more than 800 companies invested in cryptocurrency and blockchain-related projects. In 2016, the city of Zug, known as Crypto Valley, was the first to start accepting bitcoin as a form of payment in the public sphere.

“Our partnership with Worldline is a major step forward on the journey to bring crypto payments into broader adoption,” said Dr. Arthur Vayloyan, CEO of Bitcoin Suisse. “Bitcoin Suisse is proud to serve as the processor of cryptocurrencies in Worldline’s payment service system. We applaud them for their pioneering spirit in taking this monumental step and pointing the way forward for others.”
