Biznisport Sues Kadena for $1.8M Over Sponsorship Deal

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, Biznisport LLC, a Croatian company, filed a complaint in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York against Kadena LLC, a Connecticut blockchain company, seeking damages exceeding $1.8 million.

The lawsuit stems from an alleged breach of a $2.5 million sponsorship agreement between Biznisport and Kadena related to the Croatian Football Federation (CFF).

The agreement, executed on December 9, 2024, granted Kadena exclusive sponsorship rights through January 2028. A side letter stipulated that CFF approval was required before payment obligations commenced. Biznisport claims it fulfilled its obligations by providing branding opportunities across CFF channels, launching a public application in October 2025, integrating tens of thousands of users into Kadena’s ecosystem, and bridging over one million Vatreni tokens to Kadena’s infrastructure.

According to the complaint, Kadena accepted these benefits and made initial payments. However, Biznisport alleges that Kadena suspended operations on October 21, 2025, refused to remit the January 1, 2026, installment, and proposed a nominal settlement.

The complaint outlines five counts: breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, promissory estoppel, unjust enrichment/quantum meruit, and declaratory judgment. Biznisport argues that Kadena failed to make required payments despite the fulfillment of conditions and that Kadena unfairly undermined Biznisport’s contractual benefits by accepting performance while denying payment responsibilities.

Biznisport seeks compensatory damages of at least $1.8 million, alternative restitution damages, declaratory relief, and associated costs. The case hinges on diversity of citizenship, with the agreement stipulating New York law and an exclusive forum selection clause.
