Blockchain Recruitment Platform Jobeum Plans to Rival LinkedIn
br>Blockchain-based recruitment platform Jobeum is looking to build a professional social network that would rival LinkedIn, a business and employment-oriented social networking service.
Jobeum claims that professional social networks such as LinkedIn are controlled by big corporations, and they currently charge a lot for someone to find candidates/sales prospects or to be able to send a message. Candidates do not make any money on this and instead might get lots of unwanted calls and spam messages from recruiters not relevant to their interest.
Jobeum is seeking to solve the problem by giving every qualified candidate a level playing field during the recruitment process and the ability to earn JobTokens (JBT) while providing access to their information or performing certain actions upon recruiter requests.
The Jobeum initial coin offering (ICO) will start on November 21 and will run until February 6, 2018. The ICO has a maximum hard cap of 600,000 ETH.
JBT, issued using the ERC20 token standard, fuels Jobeum transactions. JBT tokens are created to enforce agreements between publishers, candidates, and recruiters. JBT can be used to respond to an unknown person’ request, opening private parts of your profile to a requestor (a recruiter), passing a test to confirm a skill, or referring a good candidate, among other tasks.
The ethereum-based network will keep records about the candidates employment, education, completed projects etc. The records within a profile will be cross-validated by the community. Jobeum will allow users to specify which portions of their profiles should be public and what should be kept private. The company is also planning to team up with universities and companies so that diplomas and validated employment records for people will be stored in the blockchain.
“Jobeum secures candidates’ profiles, information and excludes intermediaries, hence no issues related with recruitment fraud,” the company said. “It is tailored for the recruitment market; recruiters and applicants can exchange data, promoting communications before the start of the hiring party. It will support transparent recording of information exchange and particular talent target mechanism in real-time.”
Jobeum also announced its partnership with Chronobank, a blockchain project that aims to revolutionize the short-term recruitment sector.
“This is a perfect match since Jobeum seeks to create a professional network like LinkedIn but blockchain-based while ChronoBank seeks to create a blockchain-based marketplace for the recruitment space,” the company said.
