Photography giant KODAK, through its division KODAK Services for Business, will be launching a document management platform that uses blockchain technology to ensure the safety and security of information.

Unveiled during a two-day conference in New York, the blockchain-based document management platform makes it easy to store, manage, and track electronic documents and images. The platform will allow users to scan their critical documents to the cloud, automate workflow, and make content available throughout their organization.

According to KODAK’s website, the platform will reduce the operating cost by 20-40%, while also improving the turnaround time and efficiency.

“Enjoy 20-40% cost savings and improvement on managing your back office content, information and documents,” KODAK said. “With your documents managed, you save time and money.”

Last year, the photography giant partnered with RYDE Holding to build KodakOne, an encrypted, digital ledger of rights ownership for photographers to register both new and archive work that they can then license within the platform. Earlier this year, RYDE Holding announced that the KodakOne platform has generated post licensing sales of more than $1 million since its beta launch in October 2018.
