Blockchain Firm Wirex Adds Support For Waves Tokenbr>
Wirex provides crypto wallets which are also linked to physical and virtual VISA debit cards. It serves more than 900,000 customers in over 130 countries and has an e-money license in the United Kingdom. Wirex operates in partnership with SBI Holdings in Japan as SBI Wirex Asia.
Founded in 2016, the Waves platform is a blockchain platform that allows users to build their own custom tokens. Waves claims that its platform is faster than the bitcoin and ethereum blockchains, processing 6.1 million transactions daily at its peak. The Waves token, the platform’s native cryptocurrency, is currently among the top 25 cryptocurrencies in terms of market cap.
Wirex co-founder Pavel Matveev said that the introduction of the Waves wallet to Wirex is an exciting development for both crypto-investors and their globe-trotting Wirex Visa card users.
“Investors benefit from having a stake in the rising star of the crypto market, which is already ranked in the top 25 on the Coin Market Cap charts,” Matveev said.
Matveev added that while the Waves platform is a bridge between the web and blockchain, Wirex is a bridge between traditional and digital currencies.
“Together we solve many pain points in the industry,” Matveev said. “Our platform provides extra liquidity for cryptocurrencies and gives investors the ability to convert and spend their crypto instantly with our Wirex Visa card. Investors who buy Waves through our platform will know they are with a safe, agile, cost-effective service. In addition, our existing users will have another strong and popular token to add to their portfolios.”
Waves founder and CEO Sasha Ivanov said that their goal is to put tools in place that will allow both enterprise and individuals to easily implement their own blockchains, while improving the UX of dApps and blockchain infrastructure.
“With our aim to collaborate with the best companies to produce innovative solutions in the crypto space, we recognised Waves as a highly professional and cutting-edge project and look forward to growing the relationship,” Ivanov said.
