Blockchain Startup Bison Trails Adds Support For Celo
br>Blockchain infrastructure-as-a-service company Bison Trails has added support for Celo on its platform.
Based in New York City, Bison Trails provides an easy-to-use platform to launch and run highly-available nodes on any blockchain network effortlessly. It offers geographically distributed infrastructure for the pioneers of tomorrow, to secure networks, and enable the entire blockchain ecosystem to flourish.
Founded in 2018, Celo is a decentralized Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocol that allows anyone to securely send stable-value digital assets to any phone number, anywhere. By making Celo open platform and open source, the startup aims to enable an ecosystem of powerful applications using the platform, including easier cash transfer programs, peer-to-peer lending, collaborative small-scale insurance, and other digital assets and wallets. The three layers of the Celo tech system are the Celo Blockchain, Celo Core Contracts, and Application. Layers one and two make up what is called the Celo Protocol.
The integration of Celo onto the Bison Trails platform will help secure the network and provide companies and users unique perspectives into the Celo protocol, including insights into Celo voting process, price changes, elections, and protocol updates.
“Bison Trails is proud to join the Alliance for Prosperity,” said Joe Lallouz, CEO of Bison Trails. “Celo has the potential to be a global driver of financial inclusion. At Bison Trails, we believe building robust blockchain infrastructure, that keeps networks decentralized and enables them to scale securely, is critical to their success. We share the Alliance’s vision of a world in which intuitive technology lowers the barriers to participating in a more inclusive and decentralized financial system.”
Customers who choose to participate in Celo by running nodes with Bison Trails will:
- Be assisted by Bison Trails’ protocol experts in node operation and guidance on becoming part of the active set.
- Be assisted in monitoring elections and sending actionable signals including, when a validator has been priced out of the active set and how many more votes are required to get it elected.
- Bison Trails will also monitor when a validator has met current price requirements and will be elected at the next epoch.
“As both a member of the Celo Alliance for Prosperity and an active participant in Celo’s incentivized testnet, Bison Trails has demonstrated early and continuous commitment to the Celo community,” said Rene Reinsberg, co-founder of Celo. “I’m grateful to their team of protocol experts and engineers as they contribute to the protocol’s development and securing the Celo network.”
