Blockchain startup KryptoPal has partnered with Swiss non-governmental organization Help2kids to help children in Africa gain access to education, food and healthcare.

KryptoPal is a blockchain platform, which can be integrated into various applications around the world to perform various cryptocurrency transactions. It aims to address the current problems restricting widespread adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies by creating an all encompassing platform that abstracts current market solutions into a singular toolset. Application providers can customize and integrate this toolset into their existing applications, rather than forcing users to adopt new applications altogether.

Help2kids’ objective is to give some of the most vulnerable children in Tanzania and Malawi access to basic necessities. It operates several diverse projects in Lifuwu, a small village in Malawi and in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city. In Malawi, they support a government primary school, a nursery and day care program, and a medical center. In Tanzania, they run a children’s home and a primary school, support a nursery school, and teach English classes for adults. At all of their projects, international volunteers and local staff work together to create an environment that will allow children to thrive.

Under the partnership, KryptoPal will set up a public key and obtain know your customer (KYC) information for each Help2kids project, in addition to conducting full background checks for the initiative. KryptoPal will also integrate its software development kit (SDK) into Help2kid’s website to enable the charity to accept donations in cryptocurrency.

“We’re very excited about this year-long pilot program that we will be conducting with help2kids because not only will it enable people across the world to donate and improve the lives of children in Africa, but by also using cryptocurrency the flow of the financial transactions is transparent until the actual usage of the funds on site in Africa,” said Venkat Nallapati, Founder and CEO of KryptoPal. “We hope to offer help2kids a framework to accept cryptocurrencies that will pave the way for other large international charities to follow.”

“I think this new cryptocurrency donation channel will be a great additional help for us to raise funds in our priority areas, especially when it comes to providing healthcare services and nutritious food to children in need,” said Harriet Smith, an on-the-ground Field Manager for Help2kids in Dar es Salaam. “Every child should have a fair opportunity to education and we want them to focus on learning without facing obstacles like hunger and illness.”
