Coinbase Names Jeff Horowitz As First Chief Compliance Officer
br>Coinbase, the largest US cryptocurrency exchange, has named Jeff Horowitz as its first chief compliance officer.
The company announced the move in a blog post. Coinbase is seeking to be approved as a broker-dealer, and Horowitz joins following decades working for both banks and regulatory bodies.
Horowitz has spent the last 12 years leading the compliance team at Pershing, a BNY Mellon company. Before that, he worked at Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, all roles involving compliance.
Horowitz has been a member of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
