Crypto exchange Bitfinex has added support for 12 additional tokens to its trading platform.

The newly supported ERC-20 tokens are Aion (AION), Iostoken (IOST), Request Network (REQ), Raiden Network (RDN), Loopring (LRC) Bnktothefuture Token (BFT), (CFI), Wax (WAX), Singularitynet (AGI), Medicalchain (MTN), Odem (ODEM), and Dai (DAI). The new tokens have a combined market capitalization of over $1.1 billion.

In addition to Bitfinex, trading of the new tokens will also be enabled on the company’s ethereum-focused hybrid trading platform, Ethfinex. All tokens will be tradable against BTC, ETH and USD. Bitfinex said margin trading and peer-to-peer (P2P) funding markets will be enabled gradually as sufficient liquidity develops.

“Today’s additions are a curated selection of high-quality projects, each pioneering research within various sectors of blockchain development,” Bitfinex said in a statement. “From decentralized exchange protocols and payment solutions to scaling and blockchain 3.0, we are pleased to provide a platform of support and growth for these teams and their respective communities.”

Bitfinex CEO Jean-Louis van der Velde said they believe each token will serve to strengthen and enliven a unique aspect of the global blockchain ecosystem, and will offer new trading options for their users.

“The introduction of such a large selection of tokens, representing a diverse array of blockchain-based projects, marks an exciting development for Bitfinex,” van der Velde said. “We are excited to be going the extra distance to accommodate the needs and expectations of our traders. Looking forward, we will continue to expand our service offerings to best address their needs, and to maintain an advanced and supportive trading platform for the growing digital asset community.”

Last month, Bitfinex said it will not support Venezuela’s oil-backed cryptocurrency, the Petro, citing recent sanctions imposed by the US and others to isolate the socialist country.
