Crypto Markets Edge Up, But Investors Still Waiting For Good News

Reversing course, the cryptocurrency markets took a slight turn upward today, with prices in the top ten rising about one to two percent.

Bitcoin continued to sit at the $6,500 level, up just over one percent in early trading. Ether nirrored the move, up just over one percent to $222.

Making smaller moves were XRP and Bitcoin Cash, both up less than one percent. The outlier in early trading was EOS, up 2.5 percent.

The highest price seen was $6,736.77 on the Cryptonex exchange at 1:19 am today. Cryptonex saw $21,293,118 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $6,281.34 on Cryptonex’s exchange at 3:37 pm yesterday. Cryptonex’s 24 hour volume was $21,293,118.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $6,540.99.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 49.0. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 24 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
