Crypto Payment Card For BTT Tokens Introduced By BitTorrent

BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing service that was acquired by blockchain startup TRON last year, will be releasing a new payment card for storing and using the BTT token.

BTT, which recently raised $7.1 million in its initial coin offering (ICO), is a TRC-10 utility token based on the TRON blockchain. The token enables users to exchange tokens to improve BitTorrent network speed. BTT can also be exchanged for TRON (TRX) tokens through a decentralized exchange.

In its announcement, BitTorrent said that it has partnered with GRID, a prepaid solution for buying, holding, and gifting TRX, to create a BTT-powered payment card. The card will reportedly combine the features of a crypto wallet and a prepaid card, allowing users to store cryptocurrency and make crypto payments in a physical item.

BitTorrent’s BTT token has already been listed on numerous exchanges, including Binance, UpBit, OKEx, HitBTC and Gate.io. Earlier this month, crypto payments provider CoinPayments added support for BTT, enabling its customers to use the token to purchase goods and services from hundreds of online merchants.
