Crypto Payment Gateway CoinPayments Adds Support For BitTorrent’s BTT Token

Crypto payments provider CoinPayments has added support for BitTorrent (BTT), enabling its customers to use BTT to purchase goods and services from hundreds of online merchants.

Founded in 2013, CoinPayments is a crypto payments provider that supports payments for bitcoin and over 1,000 altcoins for 2.3 million business and user accounts across 182 countries. The company offers prebuilt plugins and integrations for all the major ecommerce platforms, including Shopify, Woocommerce and Magento.

In November 2018, CoinPayments partnered with peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing service BitTorrent to allow BitTorrent customers to pay for Pro and Ads Free products in cryptocurrencies, such as TRON (TRX), Binance Coin (BNB), and bitcoin (BTC). CoinPayments has now announced that customers can also pay in BTT, which recently raised $7.1 million in its initial coin offering (ICO). One-year subscriptions for BitTorrent and µTorrent plans offer file conversion, streaming in HD quality and protection from virus and malware.

TRON CEO Justin Sun, who purchased BitTorrent for $120 million in June 2018, said that this summer, BitTorrent Speed will be implemented into their Windows-based µTorrent Classic client to create a healthier ecosystem and a foundation where content creators can distribute their work directly across the web.

“In advance of this highly anticipated release, we look forward to working with CoinPayments and other partners to make BitTorrent (BTT) liquid in the online marketplace before BTT is fully integrated into our desktop and mobile products,” Sun said.
