Crypto Wallet Companion App Launched By Ledgerbr>
Paris-based crypto wallet provider Ledger has launched a new all-in-one companion application for its hardware wallets, Ledger Nano S and Ledger Blue.
Founded in 2014, Ledger develops security and infrastructure solutions for cryptocurrencies as well as blockchain applications for individuals and companies, by leveraging a distinctive, proprietary technology. In 2017, Ledger sold more than one million units of hardware wallets in more than 165 countries. For enterprises and corporations, Ledger introduced the Vault, a fully managed software as a service (SaaS) solution addressing the need to safeguard very large amount of multiple cryptocurrencies while mitigating both IT and physical assault threats.
Called Ledger Live, the new app, which supports Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, brings together device management and individual crypto assets in one place, replacing the old system of multiple Chrome-based applications. Ledger Live eliminates the need to switch between different apps for different cryptocurrencies. The app also allows users to check the value of their assets based on real-time market rates, and provides on-screen guidance and transaction confirmations to help ensure that money is going to/coming from the intended sender and recipient. Ledger is also planning to add ERC20 token support in the future.
“The launch of Ledger Live is a big moment, in terms of making secure management of crypto assets accessible to everyone,” said Ledger CEO Eric Larcheveque. “We hope you will agree that the entire user experience is now comparable to the very best consumer applications. This is just the beginning. We will continue to add new and exciting features to Ledger Live over time, and already have some great ideas in the works.”
