Cryptocurrency Market Rallies, As Top Ten Coins Show Green Arrows

A sudden surge in the cryptocurrency market has investors happy this morning, as green arrows abound for all of the top ten coins.

While bitcoin showed a modest bump to the $8,200 per single coin level, other cryptocurrencies showed more aggressive climbs up the pricing ladder. Ethereum’s ETH was up eight percent to $554, Ripple’s XRP was up seven percent, and Bitcoin Cash continued yesterday’s leap up, clocking in at mid-morning at $966, a gain of more than 12 percent after a similar boost on Wednesday.

The highest price seen was $8,500.57 on the HitBTC exchange at 6:06 am today. HitBTC saw $57,538,300 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $7,954.18 on Simex’s exchange at 4:06 pm yesterday. Simex’s 24 hour volume was $42,625,200.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $8,180.33.

Volatility was lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 41.8. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 8 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
