Cryptocurrency Markets Crawling Back From The Abyss With Monday Rally

Bitcoin dipped into the $5,000 range over the weekend, but started rallying back this earlier this morning. Still, the current landscape in cryptocurrency is no place for the faint-hearted investor.

As of mid-morning, all of the top ten coins are in the green, but they have a long way back. Ethereum is below $500, while EOS is as low as $8.28 and Litecoin at $82. Ripple is now down to $0.48, while Bitcoin Cash is at $759.

The highest price seen was $6,551.97 on the DigiFinex exchange at 12:13 pm today. DigiFinex saw $48,886,700 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $5,912.23 on OOOBTC’s exchange at 2:25 am today. OOOBTC’s 24 hour volume was $18,043,800.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $6,185.78.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 45.8. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 18 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
