Freewallet Creates First Bitcoin Gold Wallet
br>Crypto wallet developer Freewallet has developed a new wallet dedicated to Bitcoin Gold (BTG). The company was the first wallet provider to support the newest bitcoin fork created altcoin.
Bitcoin Gold aims to address complaints raised by some in the developer community about individual bitcoin miners, who have proved contentious foes of changes to the bitcoin blockchain and, in some cases, have instituted methods that are beyond the reach of ordinary miners, such as specialized mining chips.
The new cryptocurrency became available in the company’s Multi Wallet, a crypto wallet that allows users to store, manage, and exchange different coins in one place, after the successful Bitcoin Gold network launch on November 12. Since the bitcoin blockchain technically forked on bitcoin block 491407, anyone who held BTC on October 24 should have an equivalent amount of BTG attributed to their bitcoin private keys.
Freewallet stated that the decision to create a wallet dedicated to BTG was a response to the growing interest of the crypto community to the new coin.
Freewallet co-founder Alvin Hagg said that BTG was the second bitcoin chain split they’ve supported and that they managed to provide uninterrupted operations during both of them.
“When a new cryptocurrency is born and a new network is launched, it means there’s a great opportunity for our users to get free coins and instant profits,” said Hagg. “And Freewallet’s mission is to make sure they are happy because that’s what makes us happy, too.”
