NEM Foundation, UAE Ministry Of Community Development Partner On Blockchain Techbr>
The NEM Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in Singapore with members across the globe. The foundation is dedicated to the ongoing development of the NEM blockchain technology and the promotion of a vibrant ecosystem of NEM users and developers in governments, academia, industry, and the public at large.
The MoU was signed between Her Excellency Sana Mohamed Suhail, the Undersecretary of the UAE’s MOCD and Stephen Chia, Regional Head of NEM Southeast Asia and NEM Foundation Council Member. The MoU will allow the NEM Foundation to share valuable information on its blockchain research and development on various applications that could be integrated into UAE’s information technology systems.
The goal of the UAE federal government is to achieve a high standard of living for their citizens and the provision of community services in an innovative, sustainable and high-quality manner. It aims to become a fully digital government by 2021.
“The Ministry seeks for promoting social work to achieve community coexistence through the development of integrated policies and the provision of integrated and innovative social works with a stimulating working environment in accordance with the best international standards to satisfy all the demands and needs of the community categories and ensure their access to easy and fast services that save time and effort,” said Her Excellency, Sana Mohamed Suhail.
NEM said that a blockchain platform will assure the MOCD’s effort for active communication with its customers and comes within the series of development and progress that is adopted by the ministry to satisfy the needs and expectations of its customers.
“Our collaboration with MOCD is just one of the many engagements by our NEM UAE team with the UAE and Dubai government administration to implement blockchain in their systems,” said Stephen Chia, NEM Southeast Regional Head and NEM Foundation Council Member. “We, at NEM look forward to support the Dubai government in their vision to be a fully digital government by 2021, and their goal of being world’s first blockchain powered city by 2020.”
