New York Woman Sues Fugitive Jordan Goudreau for Over $200,000 in Damages
br>On Friday, January 30, Jennifer Gatien filed a first amended complaint in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Jordan Goudreau, case number 8:26-cv-147-WFJ-LSG, demanding a jury trial and seeking damages exceeding $75,000, exclusive of interest, costs, and attorneys’ fees.
Gatien, a citizen of New York, alleges that Goudreau, a citizen of Florida and currently a fugitive from justice wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, owes her a substantial sum of money based on a series of financial transactions and agreements.
The complaint outlines several key points of contention between Gatien and Goudreau. In July 2022, Gatien loaned Goudreau $11,000 for his mother’s memorial expenses. Instead of repaying the loan, Goudreau proposed investing the funds in Bitcoin, to which Gatien agreed. Over time, Gatien invested a total of 1.55888475 BTC into Goudreau’s Bitcoin wallet through multiple deposits.
In addition to the Bitcoin investments, Gatien claims that Goudreau took possession of her personal property, including a Dustin Yellin sculpture valued at $30,000 and a Rolex watch valued at $60,000. Gatien alleges that Goudreau destroyed the sculpture and confiscated the Rolex.
Following Goudreau’s arrest, Gatien pledged her New York apartment as a surety bond to secure his release. In return, Goudreau provided Gatien with two Lady Liberty gold bars, valued at $66,000, and deposited his Bitcoin wallet, containing Gatien’s investments, with a third party. Later, Gatien returned the gold bars to Goudreau, who agreed to liquidate them into Bitcoin for her.
Gatien claims that Goudreau breached their contract on September 1, 2025, by refusing to withdraw and return the value of her Bitcoin, which was valued at $170,309.08 at the time. She also alleges that Goudreau owes her $32,000 for expenses she incurred on his behalf, including legal fees, furniture, clothing, travel costs, and consultant fees.
The complaint includes two counts: conversion and breach of contract. Gatien seeks $90,000 in damages for the conversion of her personal property and $202,309.08 for the breach of contract, plus interest and costs.
