People’s Bank of China Governor: PBOC won’t ban bitcoin

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) Governor Zhou Xiaochuan addressed the central bank’s position on bitcoin during the Boao Forum, a regional economic event that addresses economic problems in Asia.

“It is out of the question banning Bitcoin as it is not started by central bank,” said Xiaochuan.

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) said that new cryptocurrency-related statements was issued in order to clarify the central bank’s position on bitcoin.

The People’s Bank of China is the central bank of the People’s Republic of China with the power to control monetary policy and regulate financial institutions in mainland China
