Russia to hold digital currency conference in June

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has scheduled a digital currency conference to take place on the 2nd of June, 2016.

According to a leaked letter posted on Forklog – which is allegedly signed by Duma Chairman Andrey Lugovoy – the conference is titled “Electronic Currency in Light of Contemporary Legal and Economic Challenges”, is expected to discuss bitcoin and other digital currencies.

“The conference will focus on a wide range of issues related to the legal and economic aspects of the turnover of electronic currency, the legal framework regulating modern payment tools, economic benefits and criminological risks of using e-currency issues technical support of its turnover, international and foreign practice of using modern payment instruments and prospects development of electronic currencies in Russia,” according to loosely translated version of the letter reported by Forklog.

Speakers are urged to register for the conference before the 15th of May, and to also send an email explaining their topic of choice.
