Wall Street Blockchain Alliance Adds Faura
br>The Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA), a non-profit trade association created for financial market professionals, has added Dr. Julio Faura to its board of directors.
Faura, head of research and development for innovative initiatives at Banco Santander, brings over 20 years of experience in financial markets to the board. He is an acknowledged thought leader in the key areas of blockchain technology, e-commerce and internet-based financial services.
“We are very privileged to have Julio join our Board. As a recognized expert on blockchain and innovation in financial markets, he will be instrumental in guiding the growth of WSBA and is a clear pioneer in the adoption of blockchain technology across global financial landscape. We truly look forward to collaborating with Julio in the future,” said WSBA chairman Ron Quaranta.
“We are witnessing a rapid evolution of blockchain technology towards enterprise-grade readiness, unraveling the enormous possibilities of shared ledgers and smart contracts. I think it is now time to work collectively to better understand how this technology can effectively be used in a compliant and secure way. The goal is to advance the use of blockchain technology in order to offer customers services that are more efficient, faster and safer for numerous financial transactions,” said Faura.
Earlier this year, WSBA launched the Blockchain Assets Working Group, chaired by Chris Burniske, blockchain products lead at ARK Investment Management. The working group will be exploring a number of aspects of the blockchain, including underlying technologies, development teams, economics and market behavior.
