Top French Gov. and Biz Leaders Explore Blockchain
A working group on blockchain led by a commission that will report directly to French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has been assembled to explore ways France can support development of the technology.
France Strategie issued a statement outlining the group’s goals, which include research the current landscape, finding ways to support those efforts, and particularly to find out the costs/benefits of public sector applications.
The group plans to meet four times in the next five months, then present findings in October. The complete list of the group’s public and private participants can be found here.
France’s central bank, Banque du France, has had several pilot programs for blockchain technology. Other banks in the country have partnered in various exploratory consortiums.
